One of our favourite ways to really discover the essence of a country is to take a road trip. Get out of town, slow down and appreciate the back roads.
A few years ago we drove up up the east coast of the island of Zealand Denmark from Copenhagen and discovered some wonderful beaches.
Our primary reason to travel this route was to go to the author Karen Blixon’s museum in Rungsted which we enjoyed very much.
Taking our time and not really having an end destination meant that we could pull over and stop to look arounds when ever we felt like it.
We walked along remote beaches, stoped for coffee, explored local villages that took our fancy and enjoyed looking at the countryside from the car.
It was an easy drive and there were plenty of places to stop for food, take photo’s and go for a walk,
