Located in the heart of old Siem Reap, not far from the city centre is the Rambutan boutique hotel. Beautifully imagined, we loved the charming buildings and the wild tropical garden surrounding the central pool.

We found this boutique hotel on social media because our trip to Siem Reap was very last minute – escaping wet weather in Vietnam – and we were so happy that it was as good as it looked on Instagram.

The hotel is in a quiet oasis of Siem Reap, tucked down a side alley, that is still close to the old market and main action. Set around a stone pool and tropical garden, with an open plan restaurant and lounge area overlooks the pool.

Decorated with an eye for detail, the designers have used natural materials and soft colours that blend in with the city’s surroundings.

It’s the ideal spot for those who prefer to stay in smaller, low key resorts. The rooms are stylishly decorated, with colourful tiles and local soft furnishings. Some rooms have with small private balconies with views over the garden and saltwater pool.
We really enjoyed the calm atmosphere of the hotel and have since returned in 2022, and found it to be just as good as our first stay.
Siem Reap and the Rambutan boutique hotel is a great all year round travel destination. Read more about our travels in Cambodia.
